Nea Baarman has been appointed the new Advocacy and Communications Manager of Aalto University Student Union.

The regulations were updated to comply with legislation and guidelines. The changes were also driven by the wish to target housing to AYY members. The new regulations will bring efficiency in rental operations and changes to residents’ democracy, among other things. The housing policy paper will be updated later on.

At its meeting on 6 Oct, the AYY Board has appointed Vuornos to the Hoas Board of Directors for a new two-year term of 2023 and 2024.

Erik Halttunen is the Chair of the Representative Council in 2023 and Ida Parkkinen is the Former of the Board for Aalto University Student Union.

HSL's Board of Directors will hold a meeting on 25 October 2022. Increases in ticket prices, reductions in student discounts and limitations on which students are entitled to the student discount (only those who receive student financial aid) will be discussed at the meeting. Aalto University Student Union’s Representative Council has authorised the Board to sign a pre-contract for the Otakaari plot with Aalto University. More than 700 new student apartments will be built in the area, respecting the environment.

Aalto University Student Union will increase security in Otaniemi, as there have been thefts in properties in the area. These cases have been reported to the police.

Aalto University Student Union nominates Sampo Sainio and Antti Regelin as candidates to the Board of the National Union of University Students in Finland. The SYL Board will be elected at the general assembly on 18–19 Nov 2022.
