Tutoring
The most important task of tutors is to guide the first-year students in the early stages of their studies and to welcome them into the Aalto community.
As a volunteer, you can organise events, develop the campus, or engage in student advocacy, among other things. In our activities, you will become part of a diverse community where you can have fun, form lifelong friendships, and develop useful working life skills.

Are you interested in making decisions on common issues affecting up to 17,000 students and exercising AYY’s highest authority? Every two years, students elect 45 members in the Representative Council elections to make decisions regarding student union affairs.
Application period: chair 7-20 Oct 2024, vice chairs 21 Oct-21 Nov 2024
Each year, approximately 10 students are elected to the AYY Board, responsible for overseeing the student union’s daily operations. The Board represents the student union and is responsible for the implementation of the plan of action.
Application period: annually in October-November.
Would you like to guide new students into the Aalto community and ensure a smooth start for their studies? Tutors play an important role, particularly during the first few weeks of studies.
Application period: annually in February-March.
As a student representative, you have the opportunity to influence the nature of studying and studies at Aalto University. There are various positions available, depending on your own interests and resources.
Application period: annually in November, but vacancies also open throughout the year.
In addition to sections and committees, AYY has a wide range of students in other positions of trust, such as the TTE Fund Directorate and Central Election Committee.

More community spirit to Aalto University! Community Section Aava gives you the opportunity to plan and implement events and other activities for students. Aava plays an important role in promoting, renewing, and maintaining the Aalto culture.

How to make Otaniemi campus even better? The mission of the Campus Section is to develop, maintain, and activate the campus. In the activities, you have the opportunity to influence housing issues and campus events – largely according to your own interests!

The Representative Council represents all members of the student union and holds the highest authority within AYY.
Aava Community Section promotes, maintains and renews the Aalto culture. Aava’s goal is to bring together all Aalto University students and make it possible for all Aalto members to have fun and great experiences.
The Campus section develops, maintains and activates the Otaniemi campus. It aims to create an even more enjoyable place to live and study, creating the requisites for student culture, community spirit, and wellbeing.
The Museum Section’s task is to maintain, present and develop the Aalto University Student Unions Museum of Student Life, founded in 1958, and its operations.
Student representatives in administration, aka hallopeds, are Aalto students who participate in the decision-making and development of the university.
The Teekkari Section upholds teekkari traditions and maintains and develops teekkari culture.
