Fanni Mattsson elected Former of the Board and Sakari Ropponen Chair of the Representative Council
At its first meeting AYYE 1/2024 on Tuesday, 14 Nov, AYY’s new Representative Council elected Fanni Mattsson as the Former of the Board and Sakari Ropponen as the Chair of the 2024 Representative Council.
Former of the Board Fanni Mattsson is a sixth-year student at the School of Engineering. For the past year, she has been AYY’s board member with the responsibilities of real estate, campus, student centre and sustainability. Before that she has been active in the Representative Council, Teekkari Section, Fuksi Committee, and the Guild of Civil Engineering.
Chair of the Representative Council Sakari Ropponen is a sixth-year student at the School of Electrical Engineering. During this year Ropponen has been a part of AYY’s Teekkari Section, and before that he has been active in the Automation and Systems Engineering Guild.
The Former of the Board will make a proposal on the 2024 AYY Board to the Representative Council. The Chair of the Representative Council is responsible for the general activities of the RepCo, such as the preparation of meetings and the chairing of meetings.

Winning artworks selected for the Otakaari 15 art competition
AYY organized an art competition for students, and the winning works will become permanent artworks in the common rooms of the new Otakaari 15 student housing building.
Results of the member vote have been confirmed
Aalto University Student Union (AYY) held the first member vote in its history at the end of April. A majority of those who voted wished to keep the internet connection included in the rent unchanged and considered Trinet, the internet service owned by AYY, to be important.
