The assumed start date of the tenancy is 1 Sept 2026. However, the tenancy cannot begin until the building has been approved for use and the apartment is technically ready for handover. The lessor will notify the tenant separately of the confirmed start date of the tenancy and move-in date.
The property is non-smoking: smoking is prohibited in the apartments, on balconies, common areas, and in the yard.

First-round application instructions for the new Otakaari 15 property
The first round of applications for Otakaari 15 will begin at 9.00 on 16 Mar 2026 and end at 16.00 on 30 Mar 2026. The first housing offer round will take place immediately after the application period ends. After the first application round, you may apply for the property in the same way as for other AYY properties.
In your application, you may apply only for Otakaari 15 apartments or, if you wish, also include other AYY apartments that you would be willing to move into. Please select 1 Sept 2026 as your move-in date.
Housing is available to members with a valid housing period who are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree programme at Aalto University.
All applications remain active even after the first application round has ended. You may update your application or, if necessary, submit a new one. However, please do so only after 7 Apr to ensure that your application is not removed from the first round.

Commencement of tenancy
The rental agreements state that the tenancy begins on 1 Sept 2026. If completion and handover of the property are delayed, the commencement of the tenancy may be postponed. If the delay exceeds 30 days from the date stated in the agreement, the tenant has the right to terminate the rental agreement without penalty. The lessor will notify the tenant separately of the confirmed commencement date of the tenancy and the move-in date. The obligation to pay rent begins on the date the apartment is available for the tenant and possession is delivered to the tenant.

The topping-out ceremony for Otakaari 15 property was celebrated in Teekkari Village, Otaniemi, on Thursday, 5 Mar 2026. Accompanied by the horn ochestra Retuperän WBK, guests arrived at the ceremony held in the property’s storage space, where they enjoyed pea soup and listened to thank you speeches.
