  9. Granting freedom from liability to board members and other responsible parties of 2020
    • Section 12, paragraph 14 of Aalto University Student Union Constitution states the following about the duties of the Representative Council: “14. deciding on the approval of the Student Union's financial statements and the granting of liability to the Board and other persons responsible;”
    • The auditing firm has provided a so-called clean report on the Management Report and the Financial Statements of 2020.
  10. Student Center
    • The aim of the project is to develop and implement a shared student center building for student organizations on the Otaniemi campus in Espoo for the long-term use of student organizations, so that the project would be completed in 2024 at the latest. The purpose of the Student Center is to be a place for students to meet and spend their time. The Student Center would include student activities as well as supporting business and festive activities, as well as restaurant operations carried out by students. Student-centered activities and services should be the main goal of the Student Center if the parties involved do not unanimously decide to change the goal.
    • After signing the project agreement, the parties will be committed to the project. The signatory parties undertake to actively promote and contribute to preparations in order to implement the project in accordance with the agreement. A shareholders’ agreement, lease agreement and other possible agreements are also drafted in connection with the project agreement. The exact content of these agreements will not be known on the date of signing the agreement. For this reason, the parties undertake to negotiate, draft and sign the agreements in good cooperation in accordance with the terms of the agreement to the best of their ability to promote the project. Each student organization undertakes to sign the shareholders’ agreement before purchasing shares of a mutual real estate company.
    • The Student Center is a non-profit investment for the Student Union and not a productive investment in the traditional sense. The investment decision on the Student Center will cause significant changes to AYY’s future operations and finances, as the investment would lead to an annual deficit with current operations and the level of membership fees. In principle, the deficit caused by the investment will be covered primarily by committing to significantly reduce current activities and increase revenue according to increase in costs
