Konstantin Kouzmitchev elected President of the National Union of University Students in Finland for 2022
Konstantin Kouzmitchev has been elected president of the National Union of University Students in Finland SYL for 2022. SYL’s general assembly held on 19 – 20 November in Korpilampi, Espoo, elected the president on Friday.
"It is a huge honor to be able to lead the student movement next year! I am extremely grateful and taken for the confidence that the general assembly has placed in me. Next year we at SYL will work arduously for a better tomorrow for students. Under my leadership, SYL will make sure that well-being can be ensured in society to future generations as well”, Kouzmitchev commented.
This year, Kouzmitchev has worked as member of the board of SYL, with responsibility for EU, European Students’ Union and international students. Kouzmitchev has previously led teams at Slush, Wave Ventures and Junction, among others. He has served on AYY’s Representative Council in 2020–2021.
The annual general meeting elects SYL's board and decides on the union's operations for 2022. The National Union of University Students in Finland represents more than 130,000 university students. The union influences education policy, social policy and international issues.

The new Design Notebook has been published
The brand-new Design Notebook is now available and can be collected from AYY service office or Kipsari student restaurant free of charge. The notebook was designed by Wenjia Tang, a master’s student in Visual Communication Design, who won the design competition earlier this year.

The proposal for an overall reform of student financial aid is disappointing
Aalto University Student Union (AYY) made a statement on the legislative proposal of the Ministry of Education and Culture concerning the comprehensive reform of student financial aid. The proposal is disappointing because it does not solve the core problems of student financial aid or improve the livelihoods of students.
