Now you have a unique opportunity to become a security steward funded by AYY. The deal is as follows: AYY pays for your security steward training (worth approx. EUR 250). In return, you commit to be a security steward in three AYY events. As a speciality this autumn, you also have the opportunity to do one of the three events by serving as a security steward at Junction.

It is easy and fun to act as a security steward in Otaniemi events. In addition, you get many volunteer benefits. Sign up for a security steward course, complete the training and get the card. We will let you know when we need security stewards for our events.

Please note! Acting as a security steward requires Finnish skills.

If you want to take advantage of this offer, please contact eeva.ylimaki@ayy.fi

Open courses can be found here, here or here.

We are now looking for security stewards for Junction!

Do you want to be a security steward at Europe’s largest Hackathon? AYY and Junction are looking for security stewards.

Junction is the largest annual hackathon in Europe and will be held on 15-17 Nov 2019 in Otaniemi, Espoo. The event is organised by volunteers. Thus, security stewards also do volunteer work. At Junction, security stewards get to be part of the entire team and receive the same volunteer benefits as other volunteers. Junction offers food and beverages during the event, a t-shirt and other accessories, but there is no payment for the work. Before the event, there is one joint meeting with the entire security steward team. Restaurant food and beverages will also be provided at this meeting. After the event, you can attend the afterparty with an open bar. More information on the Junction https://2019.hackjunction.com/

If you want to be a security steward at Junction but do not have the security steward card yet, you still have the time to complete the course in October. By working in the event, you can complete one of the three AYY events required from security stewards.

If you already have the card, please contact us to join the Junction family.

The new polyteekkari flag finally raised in Otaniemi

The previous flag that had united the teekkaris of Otaniemi was the flag of the Student Union of the Helsinki University of Technology, which served the community from 1909 to 2009 and was laid to its well-earned rest with the founding of the Aalto University Student Union. This is how the new flag came into being.
