Is your student apartment affordable but beautiful? Take part in The Prettiest Student Home in Finland 2025 competition! 🏠
We’re looking for the prettiest, budget-friendly student home in Finland. The competition is organised by The Finnish Associations of Student Housing Organisations SOA ry and other student housing organisations in Finland.

💜Please include information about your housing type, neighbourhood, and monthly rent.
Among the participants, we will raffle four S-Group gift cards worth EUR 20! In addition, all participants will be entered into the national final, where the winner will be selected by a professional jury. The evaluation will focus on aesthetics, comfort, and price level. The main prize is a EUR 500 gift card to Finnish Design Shop. ✨

The proposal for an overall reform of student financial aid is disappointing
Aalto University Student Union (AYY) made a statement on the legislative proposal of the Ministry of Education and Culture concerning the comprehensive reform of student financial aid. The proposal is disappointing because it does not solve the core problems of student financial aid or improve the livelihoods of students.
A promise of free education is not enough
The Ministry of Education and Culture has published a vision for higher education and research for 2040, which is intended to guide the direction of Finland's higher education policy. Increasing the number of university graduates in the young age group to 60 per cent, as proposed by the vision, requires investments and ambition from decision-makers.
