AYY’s Services Office will partially be closed during the summer months of June – August.

Our office is closed Mon 8.7. – Fri 26.7.2019

Our office is open normally until Friday 5.7.2019 and from Monday 29.7.2019 on.
Normal opening hours: Mon-Fri 12:00–16:00. You can always check our opening hours here.

Please note! Special opening hours:

  • Thursday, 20 June – our office is open 12:00–14:00
  • Friday, 21 June – our office is closed due to Midsummer
  • AYY Housing has no phone service on moving days: 1.7.2019 & 1.8.2019

The new Design Notebook has been published

The brand-new Design Notebook is now available and can be collected from AYY service office or Kipsari student restaurant free of charge. The notebook was designed by Wenjia Tang, a master’s student in Visual Communication Design, who won the design competition earlier this year.

The proposal for an overall reform of student financial aid is disappointing

Aalto University Student Union (AYY) made a statement on the legislative proposal of the Ministry of Education and Culture concerning the comprehensive reform of student financial aid. The proposal is disappointing because it does not solve the core problems of student financial aid or improve the livelihoods of students.

The Ministry of Education and Culture has published a vision for higher education and research for 2040, which is intended to guide the direction of Finland's higher education policy. Increasing the number of university graduates in the young age group to 60 per cent, as proposed by the vision, requires investments and ambition from decision-makers.
