On Shrove Tuesday it's time to head over to Kaivopuisto park with students from all over for a traditional, action-packed day outdoors.
Enjoy casual sledding with friends and experience a carnival-like atmosphere. There will be music, competitions and other fun program! The highlight of the event is the legendary ABB Academic Downhill Race, where teams pilot their home-made sleds down the hillside in hopes of winning the grand prize! They are judged not only on their run's distance but creativity and showmanship too.
The most daring and ambitious take part in the race themselves! Round up a team, design your own sled and charm the audience and judges to win great prizes. Sign up at www.laskiaisrieha.fi.
After an amazing afternoon sledding, the action continues with the Laskiaisappro pub crawl. Slalom through downtown Helsinki touring bars all the way to the official afterparty, AYY's Gravitaatio!
