Operating grant

AYY’s operating grant is meant to support associations’ continuous activities. All associations on the first list of AYY’s register of associations may apply for the operating grant.

Grant applications take place in March and they are scored using the operating grant scoring model. Operating grants are usually allocated to associations in late April and early May.

An application for an operating grant consists of a completed application form and the required appendices. In addition, you will also need to submit documents from the previous term of operation (financial statements, annual report), documents from the current term which guide operations (action plan, budget, list of current officials), and valid rules. The association must also have a username and password for the TAHLO system, and an up-to-date association profile on AYY’s website.

More important information on applying will be published in the association newsletter in February or March. More information is available from AYY’s Organisation Sector.

The sums of grants from previous years can be found here.

Start-up grant

AYY can award start-up grants to new associations to cover the cost of registration on the following terms:

  • The association must apply to the first list of AYY’s association register.
  • The association may not be more than one year old when it submits its application to be included on AYY’s association register.
  • The association must be registered with the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH), or registration must be under way.

The start-up grant totals €185 and it is meant to cover the cost of PRH’s handling fees for providing notice of an association and for setting up the association’s activities.

You can apply for the grant either in connection with an application to be included on AYY’s association register, or later on once all the terms have been met. In the latter case, you can apply for the grant by contacting AYY’s Organisation Sector.
