Van

The van is a white Nissan NV300 with manual transmission. The vehicle’s height is 2m, width 2.3m and length 5.4m. The exact measurements of the van are available below in Finnish (model L2H1, 125 hp).

Booking 

The van is rented via the TILA system with your personal Aalto user details. It is necessary to cancel any bookings you are not going to use at least two days in advance. For an unused and uncancelled booking, you will be charged the rental price plus an additional 30 euros. You will receive an invoice to your e-mail address after your reservation when we have added the kilometres you have driven. You can also pay the invoice in our Services Office. Please note that when you write your information to TILA- calendar and click "Add" the reservation goes through. If you are uncertain about your reservation or have any questions regarding it, for example is the reservation confirmed, then please contact us two days before the reservation date at the latest. If you need to cancel the reservation, it has to be done at least 48 hours before the reservation time starts by deleting the reservation from TILA- calendar or contacting AYY services office. An unused reservation can't be deleted after the reservation and the invoice will be sent to you.

Rental times and prices

• Morning from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm (6 h) €30
• Afternoon from 3.00 pm to 9.00 am (18 h) €50
• Full day from 9.00 am to 9.00 am (24 h) €70
• In addition, you will be charged €0.50 / km according to your usage. 

NOTE! On Saturdays and Sundays, the van can only be rented for a full one-day period.

Practicalities

• You can pick up the van from and return it to the parking space in front of the AYY Office (Otakaari 11, lower level on the Alvari Square side)

• When picking up the key, the booker must present a valid driving license

• You need to pick up the key during the Services Office opening hours (check the opening hours of the Services Office). If your booking starts at 9 am, or if you make a reservation for a day when our office is closed, please pick up the keys on the previous opening day.

• If you have booked the van for a Saturday or Sunday, the keys must be picked up by 3pm on Friday (check the opening hours of the Services Office)

• Fill in the electronic inspection form before using the van (there is a €30 sanction for a missing inspection form

• Comply with the rental terms and conditions. Cf. AYY van rental terms and conditions in PDF format

• When your rental period is over, return the van key and the form you were given in connection with picking up the keys, filled-in, to the AYY Services Office in Otaniemi or through the letter box located on the Otakaari side (there is a 30 € sanction for a missing form and the kilometre details)

• If you have to fill up the tank with diesel, remember to get a receipt of the purchase. The diesel cost will be reimbursed from the rent price. The diesel cost will not be reimbursed without a receipt. 

• If the van is suddenly unavailable due to reasons beyond AYY's control (sudden/urgent need for maintenance, for example), AYY is not obligated to pay compensation or the costs of a replacing vehicle.

There is a €500 excess on the van. If you get dents or scratches on the van, tell us about them when you return the vehicle. Unreported damages are subject to double compensation. The van may only be used within the borders of Finland.
