Aalto Kokoomus – genuinely advocating for students
We, Aalto Kokoomus, promise to build the best student life in the world created by students for students. AYY should focus on students and improving their daily lives.
That’s why we are committed to three principles:
1. Balance the finances
Students’ money should be spent responsibly and wisely. The student union’s membership fee must not be increased, and funds must not be wasted on overly risky or unnecessary projects.
2. Focus on the essential
The student union’s task is to focus on its core activities, not to try to save the world. Advocacy should focus primarily on the university. National advocacy should be left to the National Union of University Students in Finland, and the student union should avoid overlapping work.
3. Value for the membership fee
The student union should invest in services, benefits, and improving students’ daily lives. Not in ideological fiddling but in producing direct value for students.
Let’s keep our student union genuinely promoting students’ interests.
CHEM
CHEM is an electoral alliance consisting of students at Aalto University School of Chemical Engineering advocating for their affairs in the 2025 AYY Representative Council elections. For our electoral alliance, it is important to bring out the voice of our small school in decisions regarding the student union and to promote the interests of our students within the student union. Through our activities, we also aim to engage the interest of our students in the activities of the Representative Council and to be easily available in all matters related to the Representative Council.
In the 2025 Representative Council elections, the CHEM electoral alliance is part of the Jämerä Ratas electoral coalition.
Järkevä Aalto
Järkevä Aalto is an electoral alliance, with openness, transparency, and empowerment as its most important goals.
In our view, the student union’s politicisation and the surge of political ideology should be stopped and discontinued. Decisions should be made based on what is most sensible for students, not according to any particular political agenda. Political ideology, political games, politics—all of these poison shared activities and collective action, and they set students against each other, even though everyone should feel that the student union is for them. It should be a place where you can come without worrying about who you vote for, a place where everyone can work together. The student union should be something everyone wants to be part of, and if someone doesn’t want to, they shouldn’t be punished for it.
That’s why the student union should have less politics and more common sense.
Konergia
Konergia promotes the interests of energy and mechanical engineering students.
By voting for Konergia, students’ voice will be heard in AYY’s decision-making, free from political influence.

Kylterirengas
Kylterirengas promotes the interests of business students within our student union. Our alliance is politically independent, and its goal is to ensure that the student union considers business students in all of its decisions. Our other objectives include having an affordable student union for members with a range of services genuinely tailored to meet members’ needs. We also aim to pay particular attention to the Bachelor’s Programme in International Business and a smooth transition for its students from Mikkeli to Otaniemi. Additionally, we want to help business students become an increasingly visible and significant part of the Aalto community in Otaniemi. Approximately one-fourth of Aalto students are business students—let’s make sure our student union reflects this!
LUOVA
LUOVA is a constructive and forward-looking electoral alliance that aims to make Otaniemi an even better place to study and live. We connect students in the fields of built environment. Key priorities for us are functional facilities, a strong community, and AYY that truly promotes students’ interests. Smökki and Rantsu need renovation, we need more event venues and community spaces, and a guest house for association guests.
We believe AYY must be an active advocate. Studies should be flexible depending on life circumstances, and combining studies and work should be possible. Students’ well-being is the foundation of everything.
The sense of community is created through encounters. That is why we want to strengthen the dialogue between Aalto community’s cultures, invest in volunteer activities, and ensure that facilities meet the community’s needs. At the same time, AYY’s own activities should be reviewed critically to serve the members as effectively as possible.

Pro Arte
Pro Arte is a diverse alliance of students from the School of Arts, Design and Architecture. At our core, we are dedicated to arts advocacy - amplifying the voices, needs, and visibility of art students within the Aalto community.
Beyond the arts, we strive to strengthen collaboration and understanding across all disciplines at Aalto University. By encouraging dialogue and shared initiatives, we aim to foster a more connected, creative, and forward-looking academic environment.
Our work is guided by shared values that unite us all: affordability, sustainability, and internationality. These principles shape our initiatives and inspire our vision of a more equitable and inspiring Aalto for everyone.
In the 2025 Representative Council elections, the Pro Arte electoral alliance is part of the Pro Progress electoral coalition.
SCIsma
The electoral alliance SCIsma connects students at Aalto University School of Science and aims to bring the voice of all the students it represents into its activities in an easily approachable way. On the Representative Council, SCIsma promotes goal-oriented and constructive discussion on difficult topics as well. Even though SCIsma does not traditionally follow party discipline, our policy is still to first find a united stance within the alliance, so that we can promote it together.
SCIsma is a politically independent electoral alliance. Opinions can be formed based on many views, but above all, SCisma reflects the views of its members.

Vapaasti vasemmalla – Lenient Left
Lenient Left is a politically independent left option for AYY’s Representative Council! The values that are most important to us are democracy, solidarity, and community. In practice, this means we promote greater student representation in Aalto University’s decision-making bodies, support the participation of international students and those in marginalised positions within AYY’s activities, defend students’ interests in the current societal climate, and foster a united Aalto community that respects AYY’s diverse student cultures. With your vote, you help us make Aalto a place where everyone can be heard and have an influence. ✨
Vihreämpi Aalto – Greener Aalto
Greener Aalto is an independent electoral coalition for a greener student union. We want to build a sustainable campus, defend tuition-free education and the quality of teaching, make studying more flexible and make sure the wellbeing and the livelihood of students are secured.

Våga
Våga (formerly Polytekarna) is a representative council group consisting mainly of Swedish-speaking representatives who promote topics that concern all Aalto students – Våga is not affiliated with any degree programme. Våga’s aim is to achieve a student union that reflects its members, where the members’ experiences are not dependent on their language or field of study.
Yhden tähden liike
Yhden tähden liike (YTL) is an alliance breaking the boundaries of associations, schools, and good taste. It promotes diverse student cultures within AYY – honouring traditions while reflecting our current students. Our goal is to secure the position of engineering, business, and ARTS student cultures and strengthen a shared Aalto culture. YTL brings together experienced cultural operators to promote active and insightful Representative Council work.
