Saska Kolehmainen appointed Former of the Board, Antti Puska appointed Representative Council Chair
At its meeting 8/2026 on Tuesday, 27 Oct 2026, the Representative Council appointed Saska Kolehmainen as Former of the 2027 AYY Board and Antti Puska as Representative Council Chair.
Saska Kolehmainen, the newly appointed Former of the Board, is a fifth-year B.Sc. (Tech) student, majoring in Sustainable Communities. Over the past year, Kolehmainen has served as an AYY Board Member responsible for housing, properties, and facilities. He also has held various positions of trust outside the Aalto community.
‘I would like to thank the Representative Council for their trust! My goal is to form a diverse and motivated Board for the coming year and work together to further develop the student union into an organisation that serves students even better. I look forward to the year ahead and the challenges and opportunities that come with it’, Kolehmainen says enthusiastically.
Antti Puska, who has been elected Chair of the Representative Council, is a third-year student majoring in Engineering Psychology. This year, Puska has served as an AYY Board member responsible for educational policy, and previously held roles in organizations such as the Athene Guild.
“Thank you for your trust. In the coming year, we will keep well-being and a sense of community at the heart of everything we do. It is in the Student Union’s best interest to have a Representative Council that is healthy, capable of engaging in constructive dialogue, and genuinely interested. With this focus, let’s head into the second year of this Representative Council term!” Puska says with delight.
The Former of the Board will submit a proposal for the 2027 AYY Board to the Representative Council. Applications for the AYY Board are open until 1 Nov, and board members will be elected at the Representative Council meeting on 24 Nov 2026. The Representative Council Chair is generally responsible for representative council operations, including preparing and chairing meetings. Applications for Vice Chairs of the Representative Council are open until 24 Nov.
