Pop-up year tag distribution
You can pick up a year tag for your plastic student card at the pop-up desk at AYY’s service office. The pop-up desk is located on the ground floor of AYY service office near the front door facing the Alvarin aukio square. The pop-up desk is open as follows:
Tue 27 Aug: 14.00–17.00
Thu 9 Aug: 14.00–17.00
Mon 2 Sept: 12 noon–16.00
Tue 3 Sept: 14.00–17.00
Thu 5 Sept: 14.00–17.00
You can also pick up the year tag from AYY’s service office during opening hours: Mon, Wed & Fri from 12 noon to 15.00 (on the moving day Mon, 2 Sept, AYY’s service office is only open for moving-related matters). Welcome!

The proposal for an overall reform of student financial aid is disappointing
Aalto University Student Union (AYY) made a statement on the legislative proposal of the Ministry of Education and Culture concerning the comprehensive reform of student financial aid. The proposal is disappointing because it does not solve the core problems of student financial aid or improve the livelihoods of students.
A promise of free education is not enough
The Ministry of Education and Culture has published a vision for higher education and research for 2040, which is intended to guide the direction of Finland's higher education policy. Increasing the number of university graduates in the young age group to 60 per cent, as proposed by the vision, requires investments and ambition from decision-makers.
