AYY has sold the property at Tuhkimontie 2 to HKA Kiinteistöt Oy
The Aalto University Student Union (AYY) has sold the property it owned at Tuhkimontie 2. The real estate transaction was completed on May 12, 2026, and the buyer is HKA Kiinteistöt Oy.
The location of the property dates back to a time when Aalto University’s operations were not yet fully concentrated in Otaniemi.
AYY provides affordable housing for its members. In line with AYY’s strategy, housing operations are focused near the Aalto University campus. Divesting properties located farther from the campus supports this development. AYY’s housing investment plan is directed toward Otaniemi.

Acknowledgements were awarded to outstanding community members and deeds at Aalto University Student Union’s (AYY) 16th annual ball on 16 May 2026.
Results of the member vote have been confirmed
Aalto University Student Union (AYY) held the first member vote in its history at the end of April. A majority of those who voted wished to keep the internet connection included in the rent unchanged and considered Trinet, the internet service owned by AYY, to be important.
The member vote opens – share your opinion on the internet connection speed and the importance of Trinet
AYY has received a request for a member vote and has decided to open the first member vote in the student union’s history. Through this vote, we will gather members’ views on the internet connection speed and the importance of Trinet as a service provider. The electronic vote will be open from 12 noon on 27 Apr until 18.00 on 30 Apr and all AYY members can vote.
