Aalto University Student Union’s Museum of Student Life has opened its doors after its renewal and renovation. The museum also has a new visual identity and regular opening hours as of 4 Oct.

Imran Shamsul, who describes himself as a Representative Council enthusiast, wrote a blog on the beauty of RepCo and why representing your fellow members is worth doing. Nomination of candidates is open until September 29th and the elections are happening later this autumn.

Aalto University Student Union, together with HYY, JYY, LTKY and TREY, demands that Funidata takes measures to invest more resources into fixing the accessibility issues in the study information system Sisu. We also demand accessible support services for students affected by these accessibility issues.

Aalto University Student Union nominates Konstantin Kouzmitchev as President of SYL, the National Union of University Students in Finland, and Tiina Pajukari as a member of the SYL Board for the year of 2022. The SYL Board will be elected at the general assembly on 19-20 Nov 2021.

Come and save lives! Nearly 800 voluntary blood donors are needed every weekday to make sure that about 40,000 seriously ill patients receive the treatment they need every year. That is why the Aalto University Student Union is again after a while challenging all associations active within AYY to donate blood for the common good in the #LuovutusAalto campaign!

Last year, a terrace was built for Rantasauna and the village living room got a new barbecue. The working bee for the terrace was organised by the Guild of Electrical Engineering in the honour of its 100th anniversary and the barbecue was built by the Campus Section.

The museum, maintained by Aalto University Student Union, has been renewed and the museum will have a new name. The museum formerly known as the Polytechnical Students’ Museum will be called the Museum of Student Life.

Plans for the construction of student housing on Miestentie and Otakaari are progressing at different stages. In total, up to 1,000 new apartments are planned for Otaniemi. Depending on the progress of zoning and other plans, it is possible that all projects will be completed during the 2020s.
