Rental affairs and deposit
Payment of rent
Invoices will be emailed to the address you have used to log in to Domo. So please make sure that your contact details at Domo are up to date. The rent payment date is usually the 6th of the month. It is not possible to pay rent by cash or card.
You do not have to worry about payments before receiving invoices. Invoices are usually only sent close to the start date of the lease. The first rent and the deposit must be paid by the due date stated on the invoices. The due date is not necessarily the 6th of the month like in the following rental invoices. The due date for the first rental invoice and the deposit depends on when the invoices are sent to the tenant.
Invoices may include information on extended payment periods, so it is advisable to read your messages.
You can contact the financial administration with the rental affairs form if you have any concerns about the rent.
You are always responsible for paying the rent to AYY, even if you have subleased or secondary leased your apartment/part of your apartment to another person. AYY always sends rental invoices to its main tenants. A secondary tenant or a sub-tenant does not have a lease with the Student Union.
AYY recommends that a secondary tenant or a sub-tenant always pays the rent to the main tenant and the main tenant only pays the rent to AYY. In this way, you can ensure that your tenant pays their rent on time. AYY collects all possible costs arising from late payments from its main tenants.

If you accidentally pay too much rent, you can request a refund of the overpaid rent using a rent payment form or inform us that you will pay the next month’s rent in advance. If you would like to receive a refund, please provide your account number. Account numbers are primarily submitted at Domo. If necessary, you can also send your account number by email for the refund of the deposit or bring it in person to the services office. If you have access to secure email, we recommend you use it to submit your information. We do not accept account numbers submitted via a form or verbally.
If you have difficulties with paying the rent and want to make a payment agreement, please contact us using the rent payment form. If the third unpaid rent falls due, the rental debt will be automatically collected.
Payment of deposit
A deposit invoice will be emailed to you at the address you have used to log in to Domo. Please make sure that your contact details at Domo are up to date.

The deposit will be refunded to the account you have provided no later than the 20th of the month, provided that all rental obligations have been met and no damage has been caused to the apartment. If you haven't received your deposit back by the 20th of the month, please contact AYY with the deposit form.
Account numbers are primarily submitted at Domo. If necessary, you can also send your account number by email for the deposit refund or bring it in person to the services office. If you have access to secure email, we recommend you use it for submitting your information. We do not accept account numbers submitted verbally or via a form.
PLEASE NOTE! If you have a joint lease with another tenant and the other tenant moves out before you, you will be responsible for the final cleaning of the apartment. We will refund the deposit of the person who moves out, and once the deposit has been refunded, it is no longer possible to recover it from the tenant if final cleaning has been neglected, for example.
The landlord may withhold the following costs from the deposit, for example: unpaid rent, final cleaning costs, renewal costs of unreturned keys, set-off of the agreed contract penalty, damage to the apartment, such as damage caused by pets or other damage not caused by normal wear and tear.
After handing over the apartment, AYY can order a cleaner for the apartment and charge the tenant if the final cleaning has not been done properly or at all. The deposit may be withheld in whole or in part, depending on the costs incurred. If necessary, the deposit will be withheld for the time being while the condition of the apartment is inspected or until a missing key is returned, for example.
