To whom are the badges awarded?

The badges of merit and honor are awarded for active contributions in support of AYY and its objectives. There are three kinds of badges of merit and honor: the community badge, the badge of merit and the badge of honor. In addition, AYY has a special acknowledgement; the hero badge. In addition, a miniature flag and AYY's sash may also be awarded.

Description of the badges

AYY’s badges of merit and honor are silver with decorative gold and enamel. The key element of the badges is the AYY emblem. The badges are worn on the AYY sash. The badges are designed by Harry Tensing and manufactured by Roman Tavast Ltd.

The hero badge is a silver AYY emblem attached to an opal white background with engravings. Over time, the hero badges form a work of art on the AYY office wall. The hero badge is designed by Noora Laak.

All of AYY’s badges of merit and honour have been awarded annually since 2014. The badges are awarded at AYY’s anniversary celebration.
