Apartments open to all students
If there are not enough applicants among AYY’s members with the right of residence for some AYY’s property, the housing queue for the property may be opened for all students to apply. Therefore, the applicant does not have to be a student of Aalto University or AYY’s member with the right of residence. These apartments can be offered to any student, preferring AYY members.
The period of residence in open call apartments is three (3) years from the beginning of the lease. If an applicant is entitled to a longer period of residence as a member of AYY, the longer period of residence is applied.
Open call apartments and other AYY apartments have the following differences:
- All students may apply for open call apartments, and none of the applicants need to be AYY members with the right of residence.
- When applying for open call apartments, it is enough that only one of the applicants is a student.
- Open call apartments can sometimes be applied for alone, whereas there must be at least two adult applicants for two-room apartments and larger apartments that are intended for AYY members.
- The period of residence in open call apartments is three (3) years from the start of the lease. If any of the applicants is a member of AYY with a longer period of residence, the longer period of residence is applied.
Open call apartments are not always available, so there is always a separate call for applications for them. You cannot apply for those apartments in advance in Domo, for example. Whenever there are any, we will advertise them on this page.
